No. Beacon needs the target machine to be powered on. If the machine is in sleep or standby, Beacon can send a wake-on-LAN signal to bring it back. For fully powered-off machines, pair Beacon with a smart plug — you can power the machine on remotely before connecting.
We sell a DisplayPort-to-HDMI adapter as an optional add-on. USB-C to HDMI adapters also work — any active adapter that outputs a standard HDMI signal is compatible.
All traffic is end-to-end encrypted. Every new remote session requires you to confirm access from your phone or browser — similar to a push-based two-factor prompt. No one else can connect to your device, even if they know your account.
Yes — Beacon connects to your Wi-Fi or wired network independently. It does not rely on the target computer's network connection. This means even if the target machine has lost network access, Beacon can still reach it and stream the screen.
No. One Beacon connects to exactly one computer — think of it as one key for one lock. If you have multiple machines to manage, you need one Beacon per machine. You can view and switch between all of them from the same dashboard.
Just unplug Beacon from the old machine and plug it into the new one. Then re-bind it to your account in the console — takes about a minute. No new hardware needed.
